魔怪现身
终于能公诸于众了！由扩音版图主办，Tuborg赞助的“魔怪大马音乐会”将在1月21日（星期三）晚上8时于吉隆坡展览中心（KL Convention Centre)举行。 
倾听魔怪
那是2000年的事了，地点是在黄火8号窝，在昏黄的灯光下，烟雾弥漫，众人围绕着那套在当时来说尚算不错的音响系统，静静的的聆听着。。。音乐是缓慢的，起伏不大，像潜在的力量般，表面看似平静，实际上正等待适当的时机，准备爆发。

会记得那些经过失真效果处理的鼓声，那些让耳朵变得更敏感，让内心更充实的声音；还有添加了延时（Delay）效果的吉它声，被刻意简化的旋律，一 遍又一遍，不断重复着，似乎在考验着众人的耐性。显然，没有人抱怨，因为直觉告诉大家那是一种新的声音，在经历了那些巨大声响与厚重音墙的反复轰炸后，除 了打破了对摇滚乐传统架构的既定观念外，也确切的意识到音乐的感染力最终还是得源自于乐者的情绪与能量。
那是“Mogwai”（魔怪）所赋予的美好记忆，至今，那张封面血肉模糊的Rock Action专辑仍是个人最爱，即使后来在听到首张专辑Young Team的时候也同样感到惊吓，但却无法超越前者所带来的震撼。它将时光逆转，让我们重返更早以前接触到“音速青年”、My Bloody Valentine，甚至是“地下丝绒”的那个阶段，像孩子般，用最敏感的耳朵倾听和最纯朴的心态去感受。
魔怪是“后摇”没错，至少从形式上，仍可以套用这个逐渐变得笼统和模糊的词汇，为刚入门的稍作指引。对于有经验的听众来说，魔怪是激进的，像那些以 颠覆摇滚乐为己任的朋克一样，承担着责任。不同的是，他们将激情反动的一面隐藏在声音的下层，让脑袋清晰者，沉醉于声乐中的浩荡气势之余，还得附带更多的 洞察力。
还没提及他们的现场。2006年，在新加坡滨海艺术中心的演奏厅内，他们让东南亚的乐迷初次领略到何为震耳欲聋的滋味，五只“魔怪”在演奏时心狠手 辣，仿佛在测试音响系统所能承载的声量，那些排山倒海而来的声潮和让人措手不及的瞬间巨响，所释放出的威力，几乎将每一位观众的心都震碎，如果要用言语去 描述，只能说是“又惊又喜”。后来有评论说那是狮城有史以来最“噪”的一场演出。当然，所谓“噪”的意思对Mogwai的乐迷而言，所表达的其实是一种声 音的状态，或境界。
这两年是东南亚独立音乐的繁荣日子，曾经以为不太可能有机会观赏到的乐队，都已一一的实现了我们的梦想，虽然大都发生在彼岸，但总算是寥胜于无。如 今，长时期以来的坚持终于获得了回报，那些让人向往和感动的乐章，那些从前只能在电视上目睹到的场景，交集着热情与汗水的画面，将变成真。这一切，将在1 月21日得以实现。

Angels of PT
Celebrating their 21st anniversary this year, PT Foundation (previously known as Pink Triangle Sdn Bhd) presents 'Angels of PT', a photo exhibition that showcases the work the Foundation does - both the struggles faced and the triumphs.
The foundation is the only community-based organisation in Malaysia that serves vulnerable communities such as People Living With HIV (PLHIV), Mak Nyah, Drug Users, Female Sex Workers and Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM) in dealing with sexuality issues.

PROJECT INFORMATION
Experiment is a definite boundary of unlimited cultivation of a subject matter.This spirit of development is in-line with the aspect of finding knowledge through a series of task to gain results of the targeted subject matter. In anyform of experiment, different expectation of a result may be an unexpected.
Visual sound experiment can be derived as the congregation of musical orsound structure, visual imagery and movement as an experiment that combinesand translate all into a related visual presentation. This simply meansa perception of experimental sequence as “a translation of music and soundas a host to painting or expressive form of movement to an overall visual presentation. This experiment is to invoke emotional thoughts and expressionto interchange music and sound with art as a whole.
The project of our experiment is called The Rain Project.
PROJECT DEFINITION
The Rain Project is a thematic title for our experimental art project. Rain, isthe cycle of condensation of atmospheric water vapour that is released to thesurface of the earth. The tiny raindrops that fall will form various splash ondifferent surface of objects which can be regarded as a form of visual entertainment.The drops of water also creates various sound and pitch as it hit ondifferent density of surface. This repeated cycle is a wonderful natural phenomena that benefits all living things. The inspiration of The Rain Project is based on this unique natural phenomena which consists of two elements,the visual and sound that are the subject for this experimental art.
This is a live experimental art using sound as the core and visual presentation as an interactive platform between the sound conductor and audience. In this project, the methodology and medium includes music and sound installation,videography, photography, painting and drawing.
The concept of open mindedness and free form of expression is needed to develop a new form of creativity in arts. The experiment will be conducted as an information to be shared with all participants. This is an open experiment for all participants regardless of the level of knowledge and creativity in arts and music. This enables audience to experience different level of anticipation,surprises and uncertain events that may occur during this project. Nevertheless,
in the midst of this development, this new creativity experience will benefit all in this unique form of experimental arts.
The use of digital music and videography is also a good experimental method to enhance music. The evolvement of music have been achieved with the use of synthesizer, MIDI, computer and multimedia to compose or produce the sequence in music. Musical genre such as rock, jazz and folk can be enhanced with the exploration of digital music. The unify of all thosemethod transcends sound to a new form of musical genre.
Visual music experiment provides the opportunity to create and mold channels of images and sound in imagined and unimagined ways through different artforms and the emotions of the participants and audience.
Each learning curve from the experiment will enable us to gain insight and better understanding of visual and music in striking the most unique balance.This experiment provides an interactive playground for all participants to feel and create excitements and other form of emotion development.
Every sequence of the experimental art of the Rain Project will be documented by video for reference purposes to enhanced every series of of the experiments.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
The Rain Project may invoke new energy in creativity through sound, visual,installation and multimedia. We hope to explore, rediscover the collaboration aspect of arts and music in a whole new dimension of visual presentation.The conceptual elements of this experimental art will served to foster deeper understanding between the participant and conductor and music and sound thus gaining a new breakthrough in the local art culture.
This aesthetic development of the experiment will be a platform to congregate different local artists regardless of their respective fields to conduct sound installation, videography, and fine arts in forming an environment of visual and sound. Through music exploration, the possible division of sound to other form of art may be achieved.
Findars & Bapaguku Sound once again is honoured to present you the 3rd of the 12-series Rain Project entitled Root. This experimental art project is sponsored by the Krishen Jit Astro Fund. There will be 2 indie musicians and DJ performing in-conjunction with the Rain Project, brought to you by Findars&Bapaguku Sound.

2100-2145- Jena Jena (born November 1982 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is a one man electronic outfit who blends variouselements of pop culture influences to create a soothing yet complex electronic sounds. A part from
establishing himself as a solo artist under Recovert Records Jena is also a member of one of Malaysia's
most promising Metalcore band, Cassandra.
Outruning the traditional electronic concept by mixing an oriental theme in favour of a more abstract
approach, Jena's sounds and melodies incoporate elements of post rock, hip hop, electronica, minimal
tech, jazz and rock. Focusing only on computer software and some live instrument. His music has been
widely excepted in Klang Valley and major cities in Malaysia thus solely creating a buzz for this sub genre.
Being a part of the emerging electronic scene in Kuala Lumpur, Jena, together with Recovert Records is
undergoing a production process for Jena's debut release.

ICARUS THE KID ( Johari Saleh) also known as one half of the duo act from POOF!!! is an aspiring
producer, engineer and performer currently resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His music of is highly
influenced by electronica hip hop, IDM and 80's Electro Revival with a dash of modern electronics and
computers. As owner anf founder of RECOVERT RECORDS, he has worked with acts such as JENA,
POOF!!!, ONANI, TheyWillKillUsAll and LUPUS either on producing their album or remixing songs. Debut
release will be up and coming soon.

The band was formed after a Kraftwerk's concert, with some jokes on Malaysia's politics in it.
All songs were written & created with freewares in a computer/laptop.
Four different individual musicians/visual artists teams up for Malaysia's first & only political lyrics based "Check Mail" electronica band, with different kind of music genre from each of them.
Their major music influences are Kraftwerk, Björk, Malaysian Politics & Malaysian Ah Beng Headbang Culture.
They frequent collaborate with all artists from "Be N Music", like MC Shit Hamid, DJ Semi Value, Ong Ka The Ting Tings, Mix-Master Kasut-Koon (MMKK), Khairilyn Manson, Rafi Death, Kill Toyol & many more.
The first act for "The Know Brothers" will be a DJ-set for Findars' Rain Project monthly house party on 27th December 2008 at The Annexe, Central Market.

Angels of PT - 21 Years of an Amazing Performance - Photo Exhibition
As an organization in her own class, PT Foundation continuously provides space for the marginalized communities through 5 main programmes. The programmes caters to the MSM (man have sex with man), Mak Nyah, IKHLAS (Drug user), Woman (Sex worker) and Positive Living (PLHIV infected and affected).
This community based organization without any doubt, prejudice or discrimination, believe that these selected and gifted people (infected and affected) from the marginalized community are the strong force behind PT Foundation.
With full respect and honour, we would like to showcase the magical touch of these angels in providing information, treatment, care and support and most of all… love thru their own passion for the work they believe in.
From the sweat and tears of cheerful volunteers, to the restless schedule of an outreach worker to the stressful position as a coordinator to the hectic schedule of a manager, they continue to strive because they can do something, they must do something in expanding efforts on HIV prevention.
Let’s all of us feel the passion, embrace the spirit and acknowledge the strength of these angels and the difference they bring to the world and to our generations! Kudos to all the fighters!

异声碰撞(三)
依旧延续清弹浅唱、卧房电音和独立摇滚的混合风格，这趟没有纳入独立DJ的部分，但仍会在换场之间播放一些特选的作品，当作是配菜。 日期是12月10日，时间和地点跟以往一样。
阵容如下：
横跨主流和独立音乐场景的女唱作人，为主流歌手写歌之余，也曾参与Moonshine和KL Sing-song的演出，这趟会以自弹自唱的方式亮相。
2. Silent Keat满脑子创意与构想的卧房电子音乐人，也是独立乐团“沉默祷告者”的吉它手，从独立摇滚转投到电音，不变的仍旧是那股实验精神与态度，首张专辑即将面世，这趟的演出也将是12月13日在滨海艺术中心Knob It!音乐会前的热身动作。
本地英文场景为数不多的后摇团体，刚在新加坡厂牌KittyWu的旗下出版了首张专辑，广受好评，同时入选JUNK杂志主办的Junksounds Awards最佳专辑奖，后摇势力方兴未艾。
